Burglar week 19

Penultimate week of game project 2

Monday, May 8th

First day of the second to last week! I worked with the save system, completing all of the saving and loading logic as well as stress-testing them to make sure saves will work as they are supposed to. I also got to work implementing some of the settings, but work on this would continue during the week.

In order from left to right, some props made by Felicia, a bill counter by Loke, and a door by Wille.

Tuesday, May 9th

On Tuesday, I got started testing the multiple saves system. After some time fiddling with it, I realized it wouldn't work the way I had envisioned and got to making a new simple and fuctional version. This new save allows for only a single save file which the player can overwrite. I also started working on the hub area for the player. This level holds the van where the player can interact with things before and after playing levels.

Yet another door by Wille, a workbench by Loke and a bunch of props by Felicia.

Wednesday, May 10th

Wednesday was almost a very productive day for the group. We got a lot of our important features in throughout the workday and felt like progress was smooth. I finished up the save screen, improved the functionality of the clipboard a bit, and managed to fix nearly all of the visual artifacts which had been present whilst a page played it's flipping animation. I also worked with Casper and Melinda to implement dynamic walking sounds on the player.

More props by Felicia and a mock-up of the kitchen by Ellinor.

Thursday, May 11th

My Thursday was spent with playtesters, both from within the group and outside. I took care of setting our playtesters up, helping them where needed and writing down feedback for the project. Some smaller issues that were found during play were immediately fixed rather than being sent to the scheduling log.

Pinboard and valuable rings by Loke.

Friday, May 12th

I managed to very nearly finish the clipboard on the Friday. Everything save a few settings were finalized. I was satisfied with the look, feel, and function of it at this point. All that remained was recieving the code to implement the final three accessibility settings. I also worked with our puzzles and with sound for a bit, as well as doing small fixes wherever needed.

Valuables by Wille, and by Felicia, as well as a flashlight by Lucas.
